Reports say 2 People Have Been Killed in the Attack
Multiple reports now say two people have died after the shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego. Police have not yet released full details on the victims or the suspect, and the area remains locked down as the investigation continues.

SDPD Ask Public to Avoid Area…
San Diego police are asking the public to avoid the area around the Islamic Center of San Diego in Clairemont as officers respond to reports of an active shooter. There is no confirmed word yet on injuries or a suspect.
Large Emergency Response Outside Islamic Center
A heavy law enforcement and emergency response remains outside the Islamic Center of San Diego on Eckstrom Avenue. Officers are continuing to secure the scene as fire and medical crews stand by.
Children Moved Away From Area as Police Expand Perimeter
Children near the scene were escorted away as police widened the safety perimeter around the mosque. Authorities are telling drivers and residents to avoid the Clairemont Mesa area while the response continues.
Initial Calls Reported Near Balboa Avenue
Police first received reports late Monday morning of a possible active shooter at the Islamic Center of San Diego, near Balboa Avenue and I-805. Freeway ramps in the area were closed as officers moved in.
