(New York, NY) — Two buses in New York City have won awards for being slow and unreliable.
Transit Matters, a nonprofit straphangers group, has given the “Pokey Award” to the the M42 crosstown bus in Manhattan, which only averages about five mph, according to the advocacy group.
“The Schleppie”, for the most unreliable bus, was awarded to the Q8 in Queens. According to the group, that bus, on average, is more than three minutes late to every stop. But there is a new award this year called the “Mazel Award”, for most improved service, which went to the M79 on the Upper West Side.
