(Washington, DC) – The White House was briefly placed on lockdown after shots were reportedly heard several blocks away, triggering a security response near the president’s residence.
President Trump and members of his cabinet were reported safe as officials moved quickly to secure the area. Members of the press were relocated from the White House lawn into the briefing room while authorities worked to determine where the sounds came from and whether there was any active threat.
