(New York, New York) – A storm system is moving into the Northeast, bringing a wet and gloomy stretch to parts of the I-95 corridor.

Rain is expected to spread through major cities including New York, Philadelphia, Boston and Washington, D.C., creating messy travel during peak commute hours. Drivers could run into ponding on roads, lower visibility and slower-moving traffic where the rain comes down hardest.

The system is not expected to be a major severe-weather outbreak for the big metro areas, but it will be enough to make the next couple of days feel unsettled. Some neighborhoods could see steady rain, while others get hit with heavier bursts.

The good news is that the rain may help dry lawns, gardens and reservoirs in areas that could use a soaking. The bad news is that it arrives right when millions of people are trying to get around.
