(New York, NY) – Former NY Governor David Patterson and the son of WABC’s Curtis Sliwa – Anthony Sliwa – were both assaulted in Manhattan last night around 9 o’clock. Paterson and his stepson Sliwa were walking the family dog in the Upper East Side when they noticed teens playing in a fire escape. Authorities say that the pair told the teens to get down. The teens did come down to the street, and that’s when they attacked the two in front of a McDonalds.

The two victims were taken to an area hospital. Paterson experienced cuts and bruises while Sliwa suffered harsher cuts and bruises with a possible concussion as well.  The teens fled the scene, police asking anyone that recognizes the attackers caught on camera to contact authorities.

*Update as of 10/6/24 * Two teenagers were arrested in connection to the assault. They turned themselves in to the NYPD on Saturday night. They are facing charges of second-degree assault. Paterson said in a press conference that two adults were involved in the confrontation and as many as 9 people are being blamed for the attack.
