(New York, New York) – Two young Hasidic boys were attacked in Brooklyn this past Sunday. The boys, ages 11 and 13 were playing on the sidewalk in their Williamsburg neighborhood just before 9 p.m when a man on a bike pulled up next to them and told them to get off the sidewalk. Moments later, the man attacked the kids by hitting and kicking them repeatedly on the sidewalk. Both boys were taken to the hospital with head injuries, reports say they are expected to be okay.
The attack is being investigated as a hate crime. Jewish hate crimes are on the rise in New York City. Last year there were 86 incidents and now, 5 months into 2024 there have been 131 incidents. The NYPD is requesting help from the public to track down the attacker. Video footage of him be seen below.
