(Washington, DC) — President Donald Trump says he will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin next Friday (August 15, 2025) to discuss an end to the war in Ukraine.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump announced the meeting will take place in Alaska. He didn’t say where specifically in the state the meeting will be held, but said further details will follow. Trump has not said if Ukrainian President Zelesnkyy will be involved or not.
He says he believes both countries want peace, but also indicated a deal might involve the swapping of land between the two.
