(New York, NY) – An NYPD officer had his broken on Tuesday when a woman punched him inside of an East Harlem subway stop. This happened on day after a man in his 40s was fatally shoved in front of a 4-train at the same station — at 125th Street and Lexington Avenue.
Cops say the injured officer had initially approached the female suspect because she failed to pay the subway fare. That’s when she punched him in the face. The incident took place around 8:00 AM — just one day after the NYPD had announced that 800 cops were being deployed within the system to crack down on fare evasion.
The female suspect in the broken nose case was reportedly hospitalized because she was “having trouble breathing.” Charges against her are pending.
