(Detroit, MI) — The Knicks have a commanding lead in their best of seven first round series. New York took down the Pistons 94-93 to win Game Four in Detroit. Jalen Brunson led the Knicks in scoring with 32 points. New York leads the series 3-1 and can finish off the Pistons Tuesday night in front of hometown fans at Madison Square Garden.

The game was not without controversy.  With seconds left, Tim Hardaway Jr. appeared to get fouled on a three-point shot at the buzzer. The refs missed the foul.

The Knicks win came on the same day the basketball world was mourning the loss of a Hall of Famer. The Knicks announced Sunday that former guard Dick Barnett had died. He was 88. Barnett played for both of New York’s title teams in 1970 and 1973 and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2024. He was also a member of Tennessee A and I, the first HBCU to win a national championship in basketball.
