You can stay at MSG till the final encore

(New York, NY) — The MTA is trying to take some stress off of Long Island Rail Road riders, who find themselves rushing out of Madison Square Garden before the encore or final buzzer to catch the last train home. The LIRR is planning to provide more service after events at Madison Square Garden end.  The MTA says they’ll eliminate some trains with low ridership to create two new trains from Penn Station, supplementing late night service that was implemented last fall. Riders could see more late night service as soon as March.

For years, LIRR riders have complained about having to run out of games or concerts early to catch a train home. Some say they have paid big money to take ride shares so they could watch events at MSG till the end.
