United States: Trump declares bid to return to White House
(New York, NY) – Former President Trump has been found “liable” of battery but “not liable” of rape in the civil trial resulting from a lawsuit filed by writer E. Jean Carroll. This connects back to an incident in the 1990s in which Carroll accused Trump of raping her at a Manhattan department store. She then sued him for defamation, concerning a 2022 Truth Social post, in which Trump called it a hoax.
Reports say the jury also determined that Trump defamed Carroll. The jury debated for around three hours. ABC News says the jury awarded $1 million in damages, $1.7 million for reputation repair, and $280,000 in punitive damages.
Wednesday morning at 8:05 AM, Trump will join “Sid and Friends in the Morning” as a guest.
