NY: Evict Cuomo – Not Tenants rally ourside Governor Andrew Cuomo’s Office
NEW YORK (77WABC) — Public Advocate Jumaane Williams is forming an exploratory committee to challenge Kathy Hochul near year in the Democratic primary for governor’s race.
According to the New York Post, Williams has been calling donors and other political insiders to inform them of his potential candidacy and could publicly announce the move as soon as next week.
My goal in public service is to fight for the people, against injustice and inertia. What’s wrong, and what’s stopping those in power from making it right.
As our state works to recover from COVID and move forward from scandal, I’m exploring a run for Governor to renew New York. https://t.co/TnxUkFDDVW

A Democratic insider told the Post that Williams was “trying to get out ahead” of potential campaigns by Attorney General Letitia James and outgoing Mayor Bill de Blasio.
“He also struggles raising money, so he’s dipping his toe in early to see the reaction,” the source said.
James tried to downplay the report during a news conference last week, saying, “My focus is on my work in the Office of the New York State Attorney General.”
