New York, NY (77WABC)- The team at CNN is now 3 people lighter as they fired a trio of employees for coming to work unvaccinated.
An internal email from CNN president Jeff Zucker states that they were let go on account of having put fellow employees at risk of contracting COVID-19. In the email memo, Zucker said CNN has been operating on the honor system, but not everyone was conducting themselves honorably. Proof of vaccine seems to be mandatory for all CNN employees in the coming weeks.
“While we have asked for attestation to your status via Passcard, it has not been mandatory to produce a vaccine card,” Zucker stated per the NY Daily News. “In the past week, we have been made aware of three employees who were coming to work unvaccinated. All three have been terminated.”
CNN confirmed the authenticity of the memo to the NY Daily News. It was first obtained by The New York Times.
