Tom Homan Puts Hochul on Notice Over ICE in New York

(Washington, DC / New York, New York) – Tom Homan is making it clear that New York’s political leadership will not stop the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown.

The border czar is calling out Gov. Kathy Hochul as New York Democrats continue resisting deeper cooperation with ICE. Homan’s argument is that federal agents are not chasing politics — they are targeting illegal immigrants accused of serious crimes and working to remove them before they can reoffend.

That message is putting Albany and Washington on a collision course. Hochul’s allies argue aggressive enforcement can spread fear through immigrant communities and damage trust with local police. Homan and Trump supporters say the bigger danger is allowing criminal illegal immigrants to remain in the state because elected officials are afraid of angering the left.

The fight is now bigger than one policy. New York is becoming a test of whether sanctuary-style resistance can survive under a White House determined to enforce federal immigration law.
