(Washington, DC) – Republicans are heading into the Senate midterm battle with growing confidence that they can hold control of the chamber.

The GOP already starts with the advantage, and Democrats need a difficult pickup to take power. That math gives Republicans more room to defend their map while forcing Democrats to spend heavily in competitive states.

Early political odds are moving in the GOP’s favor, reflecting concerns about the Democratic path to a majority. The economy, immigration, crime and President Trump’s second-term agenda are all expected to shape the race.

Democrats still have opportunities, especially if local candidates overperform or if the national mood turns against Republicans. But right now, the pressure is on them to prove they can break through.
