(Washington, DC) – Lara Trump is backing the idea of building a new ballroom at the White House, arguing that security concerns make the project worth serious consideration.

The proposal has gained attention as presidential security remains under the spotlight. Supporters say major White House events should be held in a controlled, secure location instead of relying on outside venues that require larger security footprints and more complicated planning.

Critics are likely to dismiss the idea as unnecessary or too expensive, especially at a time when Washington is already fighting over spending. But Lara Trump is framing the issue as practical, not decorative.

Her argument is that the White House needs a space capable of hosting major events without creating avoidable risks for the president, guests, staff and law enforcement. Trump allies say it would modernize the complex while improving safety.

The debate is now about more than a ballroom. It is about how the White House handles public events in a political climate where threats against leaders are taken more seriously than ever.
