(Grand Rapids, MN) – There’s no place like home. At least, that’s what Judy Garland said while playing Dorothy in “The Wizard of Oz.” And the ruby red slippers she clicked the heels of while saying it will soon be on sale. The shoes were on display at Grand Rapids, Minnesota — at the Judy Garland Museum. But they were then stolen in 2005.
Eventually the shoes were recovered and returned to their owner. The museum is hoping to get them back — and has been raising money in anticipation of the auction. Some say they could go for more than $3 million.
