WEST HAVEN BEACH
(New York, NY) – A necropsy is planned to determine the cause of death after a whale washed up on a Long Island beach overnight. First responders say the marine mammal was dead by the time they arrived at Lido Beach, in Nassau County. Just two weeks ago a different whale was found dead in Brigantine, New Jersey. An investigation determined that the animal was struck by a vessel and had been healthy otherwise.
