NEW YORK (77WABC) — A man was shoved to his death in front of a subway in Queens during the Thursday evening rush.
Police say the 48-year-old victim bumped into another rider at the Jackson Heights-74th Street station just before 5 p.m. The rider’s phone fell onto the tracks and he told the man to get his phone.
The victim refused to jump onto the tracks and eyewitnesses say they got into a fight. The man who’s phone was on the tracks then pushed the 48-year-old into the path of an incoming F train.
He was recued from the tracks and then rushed to Elmhurst Hospital where he died. The pusher was taken into custody inside the subway station.
