Queens, NY (77WABC)-Police say one of several alleged fare beaters in a fatal attack on a yellow cab driver has been arrested.
Police say 40-year-old Ernest Williams of 150 Dreiser Loop of the Bronx, NY is charged with Murder, Manslaughter and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Aug. 13th attack of Kutin Gyimah of 4220 Hutchinson Parkway East in the Bronx.
Police say Gyimah, a 52-year-old father of four, chased passengers who attempted to rob him near Beach 54th Street and Arverne Boulevard around 6:29 in the morning.
During the assault, police say Gyimah was struck by one or more of the suspects, causing him to fall to the ground, strike his head and lose consciousness.
The NYPD has released the video below of the attack as they continue to search for additional suspects in the fatal attack:
Police responded finding Gyimah unconscious. He was taken by EMS to St. John’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
