New Jersey racks in over one billion dollars in legal sports bets

(ATLANTIC CITY, NEW JERSEY) (77 WABC)- Legal sports betting in New Jersey is already a billion dollar industry.

Numbers released Monday from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement shows sports betting racking in over 1 billion dollars in September.

The money coming from Atlantic City’s nine casinos and  three race tracks statewide which take legal sports bets.

News 12 New Jersey reports News Jersey is the first state in the nation to take in more than a billion dollars in sports bets in a single month.

The opening  of the NFL season last month, also adding an extra boost to the New Jersey’s sports betting revenue.
