Led by the Brooklyn Nets Kevin Durant the US Men’s Olympic Basketball Team Goes for the Gold Friday

SAITAMA, Japan (AP) — The U.S. Men’s Olympic Basketball Team has a shot at the gold at the Tokyo Summer Olympics.

The US men’s team led by Kevin Durant came from behind in the win against Australia 97 to 78. The US team trailed by 15 points in the men’s semifinals. Durant, of the Brooklyn Nets, scored 23 points.

The Americans overwhelmed the Australians with a 48-14 stretch that gave them a 74-55 lead after three periods.

They will play Slovenia or France for the gold. (The two teams are playing as this article was being posted).

The Gold Medal game is scheduled for Friday at 10:30 pm.
