A Female Suspect Charged In A Fatal Stabbing Outside The Soundview Houses

(Bronx, NY/77WABC)  The NYPD says a  41-year-old Bronx NY woman, Yarelis Olmeda, is charged in connection with a fatal stabbing outside of the Soundview Houses 1710 Randall Ave. in the Bronx.  Police say the woman is charged with attempted murder, and assault.

On Sat. Feb. 20th, 2021, officers from the 43rd precinct in the Bronx responded to a 911 call of a male stabbed shortly before 10 pm. Officers discovered a 38-year-old male with a stab wound to the right shoulder. EMS responded to the location and transported the victim to NYC Health & Hospitals/Jacobi. The victim, 38-year-old Edward Campos of 551 Rosedale Ave. in the Bronx,  died on Friday, March 12th.

An investigation is ongoing. A motive for the fatal attack has not yet been released.

The relationship between the deceased and Olmeda is unclear.
