NEW YORK (77 WABC) – The Mets will be turning to a familiar face for their next manager.
Sources confirmed that Carlos Beltran will be announced as the team’s next manager. 77 WABC’s Sid Rosenberg was the first to report. MLB.com’s Anthony DiComo would later confirm the report.
Beltran spent seven years in Queens playing for the Mets from 2005-2011, ranking sixth all-time on the club’s leader board with 149 home runs.
He previously interviewed for the Yankees manager position after finishing his career in 2017 before the job went to Aaron Boone. He has spent last year as special adviser to Yankees GM Brian Cashman.
