A growing petition effort calling for the removal of Zohran Mamdani is rapidly gaining traction online, with organizers claiming thousands of New Yorkers have already signed on in support.
The petition, which has been circulating heavily across social media and local political circles, accuses Mamdani of pushing policies critics say are out of touch with working-class New Yorkers. Supporters of the effort argue frustration has intensified over issues ranging from public safety and city spending priorities to the ongoing migrant crisis and quality-of-life concerns across the five boroughs.
Backers of the petition say the movement reflects a larger wave of anger from residents who feel ignored by progressive leadership at City Hall and in Albany. Many commenters online have pointed specifically to concerns over taxes, city services, and spending decisions as reasons for supporting the effort.
