(Lansing, Michigan) – Michigan Democrat Mallory McMorrow is facing new scrutiny after reportedly wiping thousands of posts from her social media history as she campaigns for the U.S. Senate.
The deleted posts have become an easy attack line for Republicans, especially because some older comments were said to include complaints about Michigan — the state she now wants to represent in Washington. Critics say voters deserve to know what a candidate said before the campaign cleanup began.
McMorrow’s allies are likely to argue that old posts should not define her campaign. But in a Senate race, everything becomes ammunition. The controversy gives Republicans a simple message: if the posts were harmless, why delete so many of them?
