(Davos, Switzerland) – President Donald Trump announced Wednesday that the United States has reached a framework for a future agreement involving Greenland and the broader Arctic region, following what he described as a “very productive” meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said the developing deal would benefit both the U.S. and NATO allies and confirmed that, as a result of the talks, he will not move forward with tariffs that were scheduled to take effect on Feb. 1.

“This solution, if consummated, will be a great one for the United States of America, and all NATO Nations,” Trump wrote.

Trump also named the U.S. officials who will handle negotiations moving forward, saying they will report directly to him. The team includes:

  • Vice President JD Vance
  • Secretary of State Marco Rubio
  • Special Envoy Steve Witkoff

Trump said additional personnel would be involved “as needed.”
