(New York, NY) – City officials are warning against a certain brand of cat food after two cats who tested positive for the bird flu died. Savage Cat Food sells raw food that’s supposed to mimic the natural prey diet of wild animals. However, the brand is now linked to the two housecats who passed away after contracting the bird flu.
This comes as the avian pandemic continues affecting different animals. The NYC Health Department is assuring New Yorkers that the risk of human infection is pretty low. Officials are still urging pet owners to avoid giving their furry friends any raw food or raw milk, and of course keep them away from any dead animals.
