(New York, NY) – Following rumors online of a sex tape circulating featuring the alleged CEO killer, Luigi Mangione, his online legal defense fund has been flush with donations. The story originated after an anonymous “insider” disclosed to RadarOnline that Mangione, 26, made dozens of sex tapes. Some on the internet believed the tapes were circulating online, a rumor that has not been found to be true.

Mangione is facing both federal and state charges in relation to the December 4th shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. The federal charge of terrorism makes him eligible for the death penalty. Authorities arrested Mangione at a McDonald’s in Altoona, Pennsylvania, nearly a month after the shooting. Despite maintaining his innocence, Mangione has developed a cult following of people fed up with the for-profit healthcare system in the U.S. Mangione’s online legal defense fund has raised over $600,000.

“It’s horrifying what the media is doing to someone who cannot even defend themselves. The only reputation they’re harming is their own. We will always support you, Luigi!” One donor wrote, who gave $20.

“Everytime those monsters try to smear his name I’m only more motivated to help him! Stay Strong! :)” says one person that donated $15.

Some are having fun with the rumors. A donor that gave $5 says, “WARNING: Do NOT watch the nonexistent tapes. If you do you’ll get a called from someone on the other line saying ‘seven days.’ And if you don’t show it to someone else before seven days Mayor Eric Adams will come out of your TV and kills you.”

The next court hearing for the federal charges against Mangione is scheduled for March 19, according to his attorneys.
