Lawmakers want to change how we view time

(Washington, DC) — A Republican senator is trying to make daylight saving time year-round with new legislation that seems to have bipartisan support. Florida Republican Senator Rick Scott says daylight saving time is an unnecessary, decades-old practice that’s more of an annoyance to families than it benefits them. His bill, the Sunshine Protection Act, would mean clocks wouldn’t be set back in the fall, making sunrise and sunset happen later in the day in the winter months.

The senator says he’s optimistic he can get the bill through and finally lock the clock.  President-elect Trump, in a Truth Social post last month indicated that he wanted to stop changing the clocks twice a year.
