(New York, New York) – Restaurants across New York City have until August 3rd to apply for outdoor dining set ups. Under the new “Dining Out NYC” program,  outdoor structures will have to be compliant with specific design requirements, and also be easy to clean and break down. The dining setups must also be safe for drivers and pedestrians. Outdoor dining licenses will be good for four years, but there will be license fees for year-around sidewalk cafes or roadway cafes, which will have to be seasonal. Fully enclosed outdoor dining areas will no longer be permitted.
