(New York, New York) – NYPD cops are really annoyed over a new city law that adds more paperwork to their workday. The ‘How Many Stops Act’ was pushed through by The City Council and set into motion this past week, even after a veto from Mayor Eric Adams. Officers are now forced to record the apparent race, gender and ages of people they stop for questioning. The information will be kept on file and made accessible on the NYPD website.
Many believe that this is a waste of time, even Mayor Adams says, “We need our officers on patrol, not doing paperwork, but it’s the law, and we must follow the law.”
