(Santa Fe, NM) – Alec Baldwin continues his legal battles over the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on set of the film Rust. Back in 2021 on the New Mexico film set, Baldwin accidentally shot Hutchins with a live firearm being used as a prop.
Baldwin has now attempted to get the manslaughter charges against him dismissed and each attempt has been denied. Baldwin asked the judge to throw out the case on the basis that the gun central to the case was damaged during forensic tests. With that additional dismissal, the case is now ready to move forward with jury selection. The trial is expected to get underway in July.
