(Trenton, New Jersey) – The race for Senate in New Jersey is on. Democratic Congressman Andy Kim and hotel operator and Republican Curtis Bashaw both won their respective party’s nomination for Senate on Tuesday night. Kim was expected to win for the Democratic party, however, Bashaw beat out Trump Endorsed Christine Serrano Glassner, the Mayor of Mendham Township by 7% (21,448 votes). In case you can’t make the tough decision between the two, you can expect to also see NJ Democratic Senator Bob Menendez on the ballot running as an independent. Senator Menendez is currently under investigation in Manhattan where he’s in trial on federal corruption charges.

The closest congressional primary involving an incumbent was in the state’s eighth district, where Congressman Rob Menendez, son of Senator Bob Menendez, pulled just over half the vote.  All other congressional incumbents won their respective primaries Tuesday.
