Trump trial: Jurors get their turn

news-day-21-trump-hush-money-trial

(New York, New York) – The jury gets the final say starting today in the Trump hush money trial, in Lower Manhattan. The jury, consisting of 12 native New Yorkers, sat through 6 weeks of testimony from nearly 24 witnesses on the stand to help paint the picture. In their closing arguments yesterday, prosecutors reminded jurors of evidence and testimony they say points towards a scheme to protect Trump from damaging information about him prior to the 2016 election.

Former President Donald Trump is facing 34 felony falsification of business record charges, each sentence carries up to 4 years in prison and a $5,000 fine, Trump has pleaded not guilty to all charges. Yesterday, Trump’s lawyers maintained that he did not commit a crime and painted the prosecution’s star witness, Michael Cohen, as the ‘Greatest liar of all time’.
