(Dublin, Ireland) – Twelve passengers aboard a Qatar Airways flight from Doha to Dublin were injured Sunday, when the plane hit a very intense pocket of turbulence. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner, that landed safely at Dublin Airport Sunday afternoon was met by ambulances to take the injured to area airports. Qatar Airways says six crew members and six fliers were hurt when the plane was rocked by turbulence over Turkey. There is no word on the extent of the injuries.

Last week, one person was killed and more than 20 people were injured during severe turbulence on a Singapore Airlines from Singapore to London.  The flight was cut short and the plane landed safely in Bangkok. A Bangkok hospital says it’s treating 22 patients from the flight for issues with their spine and spinal cord. Six have skull and brain injuries and another 13 have issues with bone, muscle or soft tissue. Seventeen underwent surgery. The plane was cruising last Tuesday when it dropped sharply and then repeated dipping and rising for about a minute
