Mayor offers up his own money to find monument vandals

(New York, NY) — NYPD cops continue to search for the anti-Israel protesters who defaced a World War one monument in Central Park on Monday night. Mayor Adams put up five thousand dollars of his own money as a reward to anyone who turns in the vandals The NYPD added in another ten-thousand dollars. Police are circulating photos of the crew that did damage to the memorial.

Police did battle Monday night with anti-Israel protesters who were trying to interrupt the Met Gala. There is video of demonstrators punching officers as they tried to make their way to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where the huge celebrity laden fundraiser was taking place. Along the way demonstrators vandalized the World War I memorial in Central Park with pro Gaza graffiti. The sculpture is a memorial to military members who died during World War I. The protesters also burned an American flag.

Mayor Eric Adams had strong words for the protesters after he reviewed police video of the demonstrations. He said the American flag should never be set on fire. He said that’s not who were are and that everyone should respect the flag.
