(New York, NY) — Anti-Israel protests have continued this weekend on college campuses and on the streets of the city. Hundreds of demonstrators gathered in Washington Square park Friday night. They marched from a rally at NYU in response to a crackdown on encampments on the Greenwich Village campus. Police officers surrounded the park. The protests, unlike previous ones downtown were peaceful.

The NYPD continues to make protester arrests at universities across the Tri-State. On Friday, dozens were taken into custody as police broke up encampments at NYU and The New School in Lower Manhattan. Students had been on school property with tents and signs.  Earlier this week, hundreds of anti-Israel demonstrators were arrested at Columbia, Fordham and City College. The were cuffed and carted away after refusing to leave their tent cities.
