(South River, NJ)  — A home in South River, New Jersey just exploded last night, killing one man inside and critically injuring another. Everybody in the neighborhood heard the loud boom, that took place on Continental Court around 7 p.m. Photos from the scene show the house almost entirely blown away. Shards of wood and insulation can be seen all over nearby front lawns. The roof of the home landed on the ground almost completely intact. Some neighbors say their cars were damaged by the force of the explosion. Others says part of their homes were pushed in.

Crews were on the scene Thursday night shutting of a gas line that had gone into the home. It’s unclear if gas played a part in the explosion.
