(Washington, DC) — A new report by the U.S. Energy Department shows New York has the longest commute times of any state in the nation and New Jersey isn’t far behind. D-O-E researchers studied nine to fivers and found those in New York spend an average of 33-point-two-minutes driving to their cubicles and that includes those in Westchester and Long Island. Those in Maryland, New Jersey and Washington, DC also spent more than 30 minutes driving one-way to work. Massachusetts, California, Illinois, Georgia, Virginia and Florida rounded out the top ten. South and North Dakota, Wyoming and Montana had the shortest one-way work commutes, just 17 to 18 minutes.
