(New York, NY) — NYPD cops uncovered another migrant flop house Wednesday night, this time in the Bronx. Around 45 men were living cramped together in a tiny unoccupied retail shop on bunk beds. Next to the beds were space heaters, long extension chords and electric bikes being charged. The man who owns the retail space on Kingsbridge Road, also owns the Queens furniture where 80 migrants were found sleeping in shifts in the basement this week. Ebou Sarr, says he offered the shops in the Bronx and Queens after migrants told him they need places to live.
The migrants living in the Bronx store claim they paid Sarr a $2,400 deposit and then $300 a month. Sarr could face a host of charges, including zoning law violations. The migrants kicked out of the store were offered rides to shelters. It’s unclear how many of the men took the city up on it’s offer.
