(East Farmingdale, NY) — A single engine plane had to make an emergency landing on Long Island’s Southern State Parkway Tuesday morning near East Farmingdale. The plane was carrying two occupants when it took off from nearby Republic Airport, and was attempting to return to the airport, when the pilot reported engine problems. Both occupants were being treated for minor injuries. Emergency crews had to close a section of the parkway, backing up traffic for hours. The FAA says it’s investigating the incident.
