School Shooter’s Mom Found Guilty on All Counts

syndication-usa-today-164

Jennifer Crumbley has been convicted of four counts of involuntary manslaughter after her son Ethan Crumbley shot and killed four students at Oxford High School on Nov. 30, 2021. She is the first parent in America to be charged and tried in a mass school shooting.

(Pontiac, MI) – In a historic case, Jennifer Crumbley has been found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in Michigan. Her son, Ethan Crumbley, was previously convicted and sentenced to life in prison for a 2021 school shooting — at Oxford High School, located about 45 miles northwest of Detroit.

A jury found Crumbley guilty on all counts. Prosecutors argue she and her husband James ignored signs that their son Ethan was having metal health issues. The school shooting left four classmates dead and seven others injured. Sentencing will be held at later date. James’ trial is set to begin next month.

Despite the historic and controversial nature of the case, the jury took just two days to render a decision. They deliberated for eight hours overall. Crumbley had stated during the trial she wished Ethan had killed her and her husband rather than launch his attack at school. She also cried when shown video footage of Ethan stalking through his school’s hallways.
