CAMBRIDGE, Mass. –Harvard University President Claudine Gay has resigned over criticism regarding her remarks that sparked public outrage. At a congressional hearing last month, Gay was unable to say unequivocally that calls on campus for the genocide of Jews would violate the school’s conduct policy. Many felt the University took too long in forcing Gay to resign.  She and the presidents of MIT and the University of Pennsylvania came under fire over questioning from New York Representative Elise Stefanik, who asked whether calling for the genocide of Jews would violate the schools codes of conduct. Stefanik called Gay’s answers to her questions “morally bankrupt”, and suggested she would not stop pressing for more resignations, including from members of the Harvard Corporation board.
