NEW YORK, NY – The MTA is discussing plans for building a crosstown Manhattan subway. MTA Chairman Janno Lieber says it would cost nearly 8 billion dollars. The new line would have the Q train running crosstown. The MTA has already received federal funding to extend the second avenue subway line past 96th Street into East Harlem. Meantime, riders taking the AirTrain to JFK now have another option to pay the fare. Beginning Tuesday Oct 10th, AirTrain riders will be able to use the OMNY TAP payment system.
