Few will be exempt from congestion tolls

congestion-traffic-nyc

(New York, NY) — It looks like some drivers will get a discount when congestion pricing kicks in next Spring. But the committee figuring out the toll plan-says few if any groups will be exempt from having to pay the fees to drive below 60th Street in Manhattan. The base fare has not been determined yet but it’s believed it will be between nine and 23 dollars. Governor Phil Murphy is continuing to fight for a full exemption for New Jersey drivers, saying the proposal is an unjust scheme to balance the MTA’s budget.
