The Death Toll In Hawaii Fires Rises To More Than 50

(Maui, HI) The death toll from wildfires in Hawaii has risen to more than 50 –and dozens have been hurt as fires continue to burn.

Evacuations are on going, as over 15-hundred homes and businesses have been severely damaged or destroyed.  Firefighters have made progress containing the fires across Maui –with flames being fanned by Hurricane Dora which skirted Hawaii.

President Biden calling  it a major disaster –promising federal relief assistance.  FEMA teams  arriving at the scorched region.
