(New York, NY) — It will be a day to clean up from violent storms that ripped through Brooklyn and parts of New Jersey Tuesday afternoon. A microburst, with wind speeds of 70 mph knocked down trees in Bensonhurst. The Parks Department says at least 80 trees across the city were knocked over by the storm. Neighbors thought a tornado touched down, because the damage was so bad, but the National Weather Service says it was just a microburst. In Union County, New Jersey the storm took down some power lines, and tipped over trees too. Next up for the tri-state, a three day heatwave with temperatures above 90 degrees. That will kick in Thursday.
