Aurora borealis, northern lights
(New York, NY) – Sorry to throw shade on the summer fun, but it looks like the Northern Lights won’t be visible after all in New York. The scientific phenomenon known as Aurora Borealis is typically only visible in spots further north, such as Canada, Alaska, Iceland, or even Scandinavia. But experts had predicted it would be seen in parts of New York this week, due to an expected solar storm. That’s no longer expected to happen due to a shift in the forecast.
