BROOKLYN, N.Y. (77WABC) — The New York City Police Department has released a video of a suspect they are looking to identify in connection with an assault that is under investigation as a hate crime. Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the man seen riding a bike near the crime scene in the video surveillance attached to this article.
Police say an 18-year-old wearing Jewish garb was punched in the back of his head at 1:38 in the morning on Saturday, October 23 near Penn Street and Lee Avenue.
The teenage victim’s religious hat and Yarmulke were knocked to the ground. The male attacker fled in an unknown direction.
The NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force is investigating.
